Christ is our hope.

We are a local church in the Houston Heights that exists to make and mature faithful followers of Jesus—for the good of our neighbors, the growth of His kingdom, and the glory of God.

The word “hope” in English typically expresses a desire for something good to happen; it carries an element of uncertainty. But in the Bible, hope is a confident expectation that something good will indeed happen—a future-oriented trust. Our hope as a church family is in Jesus Christ, our risen Savior and coming King. Our name reminds us that God has promised all who trust in His Son a future that is certain and precious because we will experience perfect fellowship with Him. “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The LORD is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him’” (Lam 3:21–24). If you would like to learn more about our community, please come join us for a Sunday service!

Upcoming Events

  • Maundy Thursday

    Thursday, April 2, 6:30p

The name Maundy Thursday comes from the Latin mandatum, the first word in the Latin rendering of John 13:34, “A new commandment (Mandatum novum) I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” Jesus gave this commandment to His disciples on the Thursday before His crucifixion, the night when He shared the Last Supper with them and washed their feet. At our Maundy Thursday, we spend extended time remembering His institution of Communion.

  • Good Friday

    Friday, April 3, 6:00pm

Good Friday commemorates the suffering and death of Jesus, and we can only call it “good” because of His resurrection on the third day. Through His death on the cross, Jesus has redeemed us, through His blood and the forgiveness of our sin, from sin and death. We are justified, saved from the wrath of God, and reconciled to God (Rom. 5:9–10). This service is a solemn reminder of what Christ endured so that we might never be separated from God. This year we will have a joint service with The Journey Church.

  • Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Join us on Saturday, April 4, at 10am for our Neighborhood Egg Hunt and invite your family, friends, neighbors, and classmates!
Ages 12 years old and under may participate in the hunt!

  • Psalms of the King

    Sundays, 9:00-10:00am

Please join us each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall for our Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study. This Spring we are going through a series focusing on the Psalms that are related to the life of Jesus.
