Prayer

At Christ Our Hope, we are committed to prayer.

The prominence of prayer in our weekly service demonstrates our deep, abiding dependence on the Lord and His awesome, sovereign power over all things. There are several types of prayer that we include in every service: a prayer of confession (both silently and corporately); a prayer of thanksgiving for God’s forgiveness through Christ; a prayer for illumination before the sermon; the Lord’s Prayer, which we pray as a part of Communion each week; the pastoral prayer, where one of our elders leads the congregation in prayer for pressing and specific needs in our church, our city, our nation, and our world; and a prayer of dedication, which we pray as we offer up our gifts to the Lord through this local church.
