Membership

A local church is a visible, tangible, real-world expression of the body of Christ. It serves as evidence to the watching world that the new life in Christ is also a foundation for a new type of community.

Membership at Christ Our Hope is participation in a family, a microcosm of the universal household of God. To the extent that we’re united to Christ, we’re united to one another. We covenant together, therefore, as a community of faith on a common mission. We covenant as brothers and sisters to mutually care for one another and to saturate our neighborhoods with the gospel of Jesus Christ for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors. We covenant with one another to edify one another in the gospel, to grow in knowing one another more deeply, to speak hard things graciously, to identify and grow in our respective roles and giftings, to extend grace and understanding to one another when in tension, and to seek reconciliation when we find ourselves in conflict.

Becoming a covenant member of a local church like Christ Our Hope allows us to make our own offerings and avails us of the diverse gifts, talents, strengths, and prayers it provides. Submitting to a local church identifies us with the body of Christ and provides a community wherein we can obey God’s communal commands. Membership keeps us accountable, makes us responsible for fellow believers, and protects us spiritually. Growth in Christ is a community effort. We would love for you to join us for our next Covenant Membership class. Check our calendar for the next offering.
