Classes & Studies

We come into this world as sinners separated from God, our faculties corrupted by sin so that we cannot please Him. True spiritual formation begins when the Spirit of God graciously gives us new life and breaks the power and love of sin, reorienting our hearts to loving and serving God and others. As we yield ourselves to God and respond to His Spirit’s continual prompting and empowerment to live as His children, we will abstain from sin and strive for holiness, with the ultimate goal of the mature likeness of His Son Jesus. The New Testament contains many instructions to believers related to how they should grow in Christ-likeness, and so our primary venues for spiritual formation are classes and Bible studies, where we can grow in our humble submission to and personal application of God’s Word.

Adult Classes and Studies

Growing in our knowledge of God and His Word is a primary means of growth in Christian maturity (1 Cor 14:20; Phil 1:9–11; Heb 5:18; 2 Pet 1:5–8). Proper sermons contain teaching but they tend to target the heart and affections of hearers, focusing on gospel proclamation and exhortation and setting a context for the Spirit’s conviction as the Word is proclaimed. For this reason, focused classes and studies are better suited to address specific theological issues more systematically and comprehensively. They also have the added advantage of dialogue and group discussion when concepts are difficult or unclear. Currently, we are offering the following studies:

  • Adult Bible Study (Psalms of Ascent) – Sunday mornings, 9:00–10:00 am

  • Women’s Bible Study (Ephesians and Micah) – Thursday evenings, 7:30–9:00 pm

  • Men’s Discipleship – Every other Thursday morning, 6:00–7:00 am

***Our classes and studies take a break for the summer, but look for registration for our fall offerings soon!***
